Inbox Fatigue

Is it just me, or has the number of emails gone up dramatically in the last few months? I'm having the hardest time ever organizing, prioritizing and deleting emails so I can actually get something done.

I'm finding myself abandoning my inbox in favor of focusing on the projects we've already decided upon and then coming back for the running commentary on all other things happening...

Anybody got any advice on inbox management? Beyond going Office Space on my laptop...
